Upcoming Council Meetings

PLEASE NOTE that a separate (second) meeting of the Council for the MD of Lesser Slave River will be held at the Town of Slave Lake Office on November 26th at 5:00pm to discuss the Regional Growth Plan.

Upcoming regular Council Meetings are scheduled as follows: Wednesday November 26th at 10:00am and Wednesday December 10th at 10:00am.

RCMP News Release [November 18]

RCMP NEWS RELEASE [November 18]: On November 15, 2014 at approximately 5:16 p.m., a Dodge Ram truck struck a Chevrolet Silverado truck at the intersection of Main Street and 6 Avenue South. The collision caused an injury to a female occupant of the Chevrolet Silverado truck. The Dodge Ram truck then fled the scene of the collision. A 27 year old male from Slave Lake has been charged.

Tri-Council Regional Wellness Scholarship

The Regional Wellness Advisory Committee will award three (3) applicants of the Tri-Council Region with a $3000.00 scholarship!

Applications must be received by 4:30pm on December 15th 2014.

Pay Your Property Tax on a Monthly Basis!

The Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP) is a program available to Municipal District residents, which allows you to pay your property tax on a monthly basis (rather than
in a lump-sum payment!). Arrangements must be made prior to January 1st 2015. Some conditions apply.

Community Assistance Board

The Municipal District Council has endorsed a policy that will facilitate funding assistance to local non-profit organizations, service groups and individuals. A Community Assistance Board has been created to review, prioritize and allocate funds towards community opportunities, initiatives and programming. Council wishes to explain this new funding initiative to the community in advance of the initial October 31st application deadline.
