ADMINISTRATION
As head of Administration, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is responsible for providing effective and efficient administrative services to three primary groups – Council, staff, and the public.
The responsibilities of the CAO includes overseeing municipal operations, providing proactive corporate communications, and ensuring Council's priorities and strategic directions are achieved.
As chief liaison to Council, the CAO provides advice and recommendations to Council, keeps Council and staff apprised of changes to the Municipal Government Act, and ensures the municipality's financial status and the progress of municipal projects is effectively communicated to Council, staff, and residents.
Under the CAO's leadership and direction, the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River has six departments, employing over 60 staff members. These departments include Administration, Finance, Planning & Development, Agricultural Services, Field Services, Protective Services, and Disaster & Fire Services.
