Working alongside the Lesser Slave River Regional Fire Service, the municipality's Protective Services department provides effective, comprehensive enforcement services to protect and serve the municipality and its residents.

In addition to working to ensure the protection of public safety and property, and protect municipal roads and infrastructure through commercial vehicle enforcement, staff work with other agencies to assist the community when disaster strikes.

The Municipal District has the ability to enforce its own bylaws as well as a number of Provincial statutes. This department also works closely with the RCMP and Alberta Government enforcement agencies such as Fish and Wildlife, Motor Transport, etc. on matters of mutual concern affecting the Municipal District.
