Fire Services Update

The Lesser Slave River Regional Fire Service is committed to protecting life, property and the environment from fire, hazardous materials, natural disasters and other emergencies. As such, the department issues a weekly report on all investigations, fire prevention activities and other Fire Services news of importance to the residents of the Lesser Slave River region.

  • 1 Medical Assist- 900 6 AVE SE
  • 2 Duty Officer – 1511 Main ST, 105 6 AVE NE
  • 2 MVA’s –HWY 2 East of HWY 88, 400 3 AVE NW
  • 1 Wildland Fire- Recycle Center

  • Assist Technical Services Advisory Group with 472 Dangerous Goods Course as needed
  • 19 Students from LSRFS and area completed their 472 Dangerous Goods Course and exam
  • Assist with snow clearing halls 1, 2 & 5
  • Completed ICS 400 Course

  • ICS 400 Course
  • Worked on I am Responding
  • Entered Hydrants in Southshore area
  • Mitsue & Widewater plow and shovel snow
  • Reviewed the 472 Operations Proctor and practical evaluations items
  • Proctored and evaluated the NFPA 472 course exam and practical.
  • Dealt with issue regarding jackets for Flatbush

  • Hall 1 Training
  • Hazmat, leaks and equipment, Emergency Response guide and decontaminations
  • Widewater I AM Responding with fire fighters & Hall Maintenance
  • Flatbush I AM Responding with fire fighters & Officer lead scene safety

  • ICS 400 Course
  • Met with Forestry about coordinating both sides on veg management projects
