In order for the Government of Alberta (GOA) to provide funding assistance under a Disaster Recovery Funding Program (DRP) for the rainfall/flood events of June, a municipality has to submit an application concerning the scope of the incident and estimated damages.
As of July 20, 2018, the Municipal District has made this submission. The GOA will review the application, the magnitude of the damage as well as the associated weather event. Upon review, it is anticipated that the Treasury Board should approve the DRP. This should take place over 60 days.
Once announced, the Province will open an intake for private residents impacted by the flood and have out of pocket expenditures not covered by insurance.
As the process moves forward, the MD will issue further communications.
