Fire Services Update

The Lesser Slave River Regional Fire Service is committed to protecting life, property and the environment from fire, hazardous materials, natural disasters and other emergencies. As such, the department issues a weekly report on all investigations, fire prevention activities and other Fire Services news of importance to the residents of the Lesser Slave River region.

  • 1-Medical Co Response-304-6 AVE SW
  • 1-Other- MRC ice plant freeze up
  • 3-MVA-108 6 AVE NE/3 miles west of SL on HWY 2/HWY 88@ KM 25
  • 1-Vehicle Fire- HWY 2 2 KM East of SL

  • Picked up parts for Unit 171 & command vehicles
  • Services completed on Units 101/103/121/151/131/111
  • Assisted repairs on Units 122/151/111/161
  • Pump training with Seahawk Team
  • Full Service paperwork
  • Repaired Unit 151 drivers rear compartment latch loose and real panel
  • Repaired loose fitting on the snow plow
  • Made and installed rear bracket for the front heater of Unit 171 trailer
  • Picked up Unit 104 from Kal Tire
  • Washed maintenance Bay

  • Met with MFR group
  • New Hall 1 FF did interview and physical completed
  • Two FF did exit paperwork for hall 1
  • Met with AHS Supervisor for Rehab trailer information
  • Updated I AM Responding for new items
  • Finalized 1041 attendance’s list
  • Completed Liquor license for SL Kodiak’s
  • Assisted with moving trucks around for annual inspections
  • Worked with new maintenance coordinator to go over PO’s
  • Assisted Fire Department and TOSL staff with heating up mechanical room at MRC
  • Inspections completed- The Fix, Roland Michener, Mary Browns, Slave Lake Inn, Tim Hortons, CJ Lunchroom Occupancy ideas, Subway Sawridge, Subway Cornerstone, ST Francis, ST Mary’s and Ken’s Stir Fry

  • Finish hose testing OFC structure protection hose (24 000ft tested)
  • Installed Firesmart info trailer generator
  • Swap units in MD for maintenance coordinator
  • New crew member orientation and start
  • Check Smith burn piles
  • Bunkhouse drywall removal and propane issues
  • Gas detector bump tests
  • Helped MRC unthaw ice plant
  • Driver training for volunteer member
  • Assist with inspections in townp
