Southshore Viewpoint Takes Shape

After several years of planning, MD crews are nearing completion of the Southshore Viewpoint project – a new rest area overlooking Lesser Slave Lake with Marten Mountain in the distance.

An idyllic location with a million-dollar view, Southshore Viewpoint stands as a reminder of why we call this rugged-and-real part of Alberta home. Some landscaping and final touches remain to be done, but everyone is welcome to stop by to enjoy lunch at the picnic tables, take selfies or relax on one of the perfectly-situated park benches. This scenic spot is a real gem for the communities of Lesser Slave River. The MD encourages everyone to stop by and experience it for themselves.

For those not familiar with the area, the viewpoint is located along Southshore Drive East in Wagner; across from the Regional Landfill turnoff on Highway 2.
