In its ongoing effort to engage residents and visitors in a two-way conversation, the MD hosts a variety of contests and surveys throughout the year. Surveys generally occur prior to a development or initiative contemplated by Lesser Slave River Council as a simple and cost-effective way to gauge public sentiment. Contests, on the other hand, are geared toward fostering community interaction while showcasing our region's rugged-and-real character to the world at large. As they occur, you'll find these types of opportunities within this section.
Please note that contests requiring the submission of photos, essays or other original content are noncommercial in nature, and are intended solely as goodwill endeavours. Please review our Site Use Policy for more details in this regard.
Earlier this year, we invited you to Share the best of our rugged-and-real region through your lens...show us what the municipal motto “Rugged & Real” means to you! More than a hundred entries were submitted, and you got to cast your votes. Well the results are in!
Contest winners will have their photos featured in the 2017 Milestones publication (the MD’s Annual Report to the Community) as well as here on the municipal website. In addition, the Grand Prize Winner will receive $250 Cash, and the next five (5) winning entrants will each receive a $100 Voucher redeemable at select local businesses.
Congratulations to the successful shooters, and thanks to everyone who submitted their work and participated in the voting. Kudos for helping us showcase our rugged-and-real region to the world. Stay tuned for future photo contests!
